Booking Calendar

Let visitors book real appointment slots on your page — no separate scheduling app, no double-bookings. Set your availability once, drop the block on a page, and every booking arrives with a confirmation email, an automatic reminder, and (if you turn it on) an automation you control from the Automations page.

What it is

The Booking Calendar block embeds a live, interactive scheduler directly in a document. You have one calendar per account — every Booking Calendar block you place on any page reads from and books into that same calendar, so your availability stays consistent no matter how many pages link to it.

Placing the block on a page doesn't create a new calendar — it lazily connects to your existing one (creating it on first use if you've never set one up). There's no separate "create a calendar" step.

Adding the block

/ → Booking
Type / on any empty paragraph, type booking, press Enter.
Block palette
Click + on any block → Web Building group → Booking Calendar.

In the editor, the block shows a lightweight settings card rather than a live booking widget — this is deliberate, so you don't accidentally create a real test booking while designing the page. Use the link on the card to open the Booking admin page and set your availability. The actual interactive booker only appears once the page is published.

Setting your availability

Everything about when you're bookable lives on the Booking page in the sidebar — weekly hours, one-off date overrides, appointment length, timezone, notice/advance windows, your calendar's display name, and which email address confirmations send from.

1
Set weekly hours — including split shifts

Toggle each day of the week on or off. You can set more than one open range per day — e.g. Monday 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–18:00 — for a real lunch break or split shift, not just one flat window. Slots are generated automatically inside each range based on your appointment duration.

2
Add date overrides (optional)

Block off a specific date entirely (a holiday, a day off) or open custom hours outside your normal weekly pattern, for a single date only.

3
Set duration, buffer, and timezone

Appointment length and the buffer time between bookings are both configurable per calendar — no longer locked to a 30-minute default. Set your real timezone here too; every time shown to a visitor is converted from this into their timezone automatically (see below).

4
Set notice and advance-booking windows

Require a minimum lead time before a booking (e.g. at least 2 hours out — stops someone booking 5 minutes from now) and cap how far in advance someone can book (e.g. no more than 30 days out).

5
Name your calendar

The name you set here appears in confirmation and reminder emails ("Your booking with {Calendar name} is confirmed") — set something recognizable instead of leaving it as the default.

6
Choose a sender identity

Pick which of your connected sender identities booking emails go out from. Falls back to your commerce sender, then your account default, if you haven't set one explicitly.

Times are timezone-correct end to end. A visitor sees slots in their timezone, and every booking stores both their timezone and yours at the moment it was made — so a reminder email still says "2pm your time" correctly even if you change your own calendar's timezone setting later.

Manual approval mode

By default, a booking is confirmed the instant a visitor picks a slot. Turn on Require approval instead if you'd rather review a request before it's locked in.

Off (default)The slot is unavailable to everyone else the instant it's booked. The visitor gets an immediate confirmation email.
OnThe booking sits as "Awaiting confirmation" and the slot stays held — nobody else can grab it. The visitor gets a "request received" email, not a confirmation. You approve or decline from the Booking admin page; approving sends the real confirmation email (gated by the same on/off automation as any other confirmed booking — see below), declining releases the slot.

How visitors book

The public widget is a two-step flow: pick a day, pick a time, then confirm with a name and email.

Red dot under a day
Marks a day with at least one open slot. Days without a dot have nothing available — no need to click through to find out.
Click a day
Loads that day's open time slots.
Click a slot
Advances to the name / email / notes form.
Submit
Creates the booking. If someone else grabbed that exact slot a moment earlier, you'll be told it was just taken instead of silently double-booking.
The widget uses your page's accent color for the selected day, the bookable-day dot, and the confirm button — it isn't hardcoded red, that's just this doc's default demo color.

Confirmation and reminder emails

A confirmed booking sends a confirmation email, and a reminder email automatically 24 hours before the appointment (checked hourly, so the exact send time can be up to an hour early). Both include a manage link.

Both sends are controlled from the Automations page as "Booking confirmation email" and "Booking reminder email" — on by default for every account. Turning either off there stops the send without touching anything about the booking itself. See system automations for how these differ from a rule you build yourself.
If your sender identity's email connection isn't set up, the booking still succeeds — it just won't be able to send the email, and that failure is recorded rather than silently dropped. If a visitor says they never got a confirmation or reminder, open that booking on the Booking page — a small amber badge next to their name reads “Confirmation failed” or “Confirmation off” (same for reminders) with the real error, or a pointer to the automation toggle, on hover. A booking with no badge sent successfully — badges only appear for the cases that need your attention.

Managing a booking (visitor side)

The manage link in every confirmation/reminder email opens a page where a visitor can view, reschedule, or cancel their own booking — no account or password needed. The link itself is what proves it's them.

RescheduleOnly available for a confirmed booking. Picks a new open date/time the same way the original booking did, re-validated against your live availability — a slot that's since been taken or fallen outside your notice window won't be offered.
CancelAvailable for a confirmed booking or one still awaiting your approval — cancelling an awaiting-approval booking simply withdraws the request.

The Booking admin page

Beyond availability settings, the Booking page has a month view of all your bookings. Click a day to expand the list inline — no need to leave the page to see who booked what.

Count badge, not a dot
Each day with bookings shows a real count, colored amber if any of that day's bookings are still awaiting your approval — not just a plain presence dot.
Approve / decline
For calendars with manual approval on, accept or decline a pending request directly from this view.
Cancel / mark no-show
Cancel any booking, or mark a past one as a no-show — both fire their own automation trigger if you've built a rule for it.
Track as a CRM deal
Turn a confirmed booking into a deal on your CRM pipeline in one click, without re-typing the contact.

Booking events in Automations

Every booking status change is a real trigger you can build on from the Automations page — a booking being confirmed, cancelled, or marked a no-show can all kick off their own rule (send a custom email, move a CRM deal, notify your team, and more). See the Automations overview for the full picture.

Google Calendar sync

Beta

If you've connected a Google account via sign-in, two things happen automatically once the feature is fully enabled on your account (this is independent of the Mail app's Gmail tab, which is currently unavailable):

DirectionWhat happens
Google → BlnkSpaceA slot you already have a real Google Calendar event during no longer shows as open to visitors — your existing commitments are respected automatically.
BlnkSpace → GoogleA new booking through this block gets pushed as a real event on your primary Google Calendar, so it shows up alongside everything else you have scheduled.
This is a one-way-each sync, not full two-way sync — editing or deleting the event on the Google side later doesn't update or cancel the booking back in BlnkSpace. Manage cancellations from the Booking admin page or the visitor's manage link, not by deleting the calendar event.
If Google sync doesn't seem to be doing anything yet, that's expected during rollout — nothing breaks while it's off, it just behaves like a normal calendar with no external conflict-checking until it's enabled. No action needed on your end.
