Page Settings controls how a document appears in browser tabs, link previews, and search results — and where it lives on the web. It's split into two sections: Appearance & SEO (icon, favicon, OG image, title, description) and Domains (subdomain and custom domain management).

Opening Page Settings

Click the gear/settings icon in the document toolbar. The Page Settings panel slides in from the right.

The Share panel has a Settings tab that opens the same panel.

Appearance & SEO

This section controls how your page looks everywhere it appears outside your editor — browser tabs, bookmarks, social link cards, and search engine results.

Icon

The icon is an emoji that appears as the browser tab favicon by default. Click the icon button to open the emoji picker — a full searchable emoji library. The selected emoji is rendered as an inline SVG data URI so it shows in the tab without any external request.

Remove icon

Click "Remove icon" below the picker to clear the icon. The tab falls back to the site's default favicon.

Favicon image (override)

If you want a custom image as the favicon instead of the emoji, upload one here. This overrides the emoji for the tab icon. Supported formats: PNG, SVG, ICO. Recommended size: 32×32 px or larger square image.

You can upload directly or pick from your image library using the Library button. Maximum file size: 1MB.

Link preview image

This is the image shown when someone pastes your page URL into Slack, Twitter, iMessage, or any other platform that renders Open Graph previews. Recommended dimensions: 1200×630px.

If left empty, BlnkSpace automatically generates a preview image from the page title and icon using the /api/og generator. The generated image uses the document title centered on a dark background with the emoji icon.

SEO title

Overrides the document title for search engines and link previews. If empty, the document's actual title is used. The live browser tab preview at the top of the panel updates as you type so you can see exactly how it will appear.

SEO description

A short summary (typically 150–160 characters) shown in search engine results below the page title, and in the description field of Open Graph link cards. Leaving it empty means search engines will generate their own snippet from the page content.

All Appearance changes auto-save with a 600ms debounce. You don't need to click a Save button — a "Saved" indicator appears briefly after each change persists.

Domains

The Domains section lets you publish this document (and its sub-pages) to a public web address. Every published site gets a subdomain on blnkspace.app, and you can optionally connect your own custom domain.

If this document is a sub-page of another document, the Domains section will note that — sub-pages are published as part of the parent document's site. Open the top-level page to manage the domain.

Setting up a subdomain

Click "Set up a domain"

In the Domains section, click the button. A form appears to configure your subdomain.

Choose a subdomain

Enter your desired subdomain (e.g. myproject). A slug is auto-suggested from your document title. Subdomains must be lowercase alphanumeric with hyphens, 3–63 characters.

Publish

Click Create. Your site is immediately available at yoursubdomain.blnkspace.app. Sub-pages are nested under the root document's URL using their slug.

Custom domain

Once a subdomain is set up, you can connect your own domain from the site card in the Domains section. See the Custom domains page for the full DNS setup and verification flow.
