Media Block
All plans

An AI-powered transcript analyser that extracts clip ideas from a YouTube or YouTube Shorts transcript. Paste a transcript, click Extract, and the block returns structured clip cards — each with time codes, title options, a hook analysis, and the extracted segment text.

This block requires an AI API key configured in Settings → AI. It uses your provider's streaming API to process the transcript.

Adding a YouTube Shorts block

/ → YouTube Shorts
Type /youtube or /shorts on any empty block.
Block palette
Click + on any block → Media → YouTube Shorts.

Workflow

1
Get the transcript

Open the YouTube video, click the three-dot menu below the video → Show transcript. Select all and copy the transcript text including timestamps.

2
Paste and extract

Paste the transcript into the block's text area. Click Extract Shorts. The AI streams back structured clip data.

3
Review clip cards

Each clip card shows: time code range, duration, the recommended short framework (Hook/Problem/Solution/CTA etc.), three title options, the extracted transcript segment, and a hook analysis.

4
Copy and export

Copy individual titles or segments with the copy button on each card. Export all clips as a JSON file with the Export JSON button.

Clip cards

Framework
The recommended short-form video structure (e.g. Hook–Problem–Solution, Story Arc, Tutorial). Detected by the AI based on content.
Time codes
Start and end timestamps from the original transcript, with duration in seconds.
Title options
Three suggested titles for the clip, each optimised for different approaches (curiosity gap, direct benefit, narrative hook).
Segment
The verbatim transcript text for the clip's time range. Copy button pastes it as plain text.
Hook analysis
A brief explanation of why this segment works as a short — what makes it engaging and how to deliver it.

Managing clips

Add more
After an initial extraction, paste a second transcript (e.g. a different segment or a second video) and click Add More to append clips without replacing the existing ones.

Click Replace to discard all current clips and run a fresh extraction on the new transcript.
Remove clip
Click the × on any clip card to remove it from the list.
Export JSON
Downloads all current clips as a structured JSON file — useful for feeding into scheduling tools or content calendars.
